As of February 1st 2022 my Memoir Glass Eyes a Photographers Journey was uploaded for publication and submitted to the Global Market Place. After many months of planning, a year of writing and editing this project and chapter has come to a close.
As an Ohio residence we have been getting snow, snow, snow and ice as well. In fact so much ice the trees limbs chimed and then oh so many crashed to the ground cutting power out to a lot of people. I was fortunate enough to have a half charged camera battery and enough boredom in me to trek out and see what kind of Winter photos I could get.
Over the years I have racked up a lot of international travel as well as national travel. Packing my camera equipment has become a sort of art for me, especially as my equipment has expanded and evolved with time.
I read an article at the beginning of the month about scary photography stories from professional photographers and while arguably those moments made an impact on that particular photographer’s life they really didn’t resonate with me…. So here are my scariest moments as a photographer
6. Never say 'Oh I thought you just hit buttons': Graphic design like photography is more than hitting a button. It is hours of work, education, trying and failing before succeeding. It is making something out of nothing that visually compelling, draws and sells items or services
Commonly in photography the men and women behind the camera niche. That is they select an area of preference and become an expert in it. It becomes the focus of their offerings and the subject they photograph the most.
Many new photographers will jump through many specialty areas trying to find the ones that they prefer and enjoy. Sometimes they inherently know and sometimes they are curious to try numerous areas and techniques to discover that perhaps what they thought they’d enjoy really wasn’t what they came to specialize in.
