Photography isn’t just about getting the perfect shot; it’s about enjoying the process and finding beauty in the simplest things. Whether you’re using a fancy camera or your smartphone, every click is a chance to capture a moment that tells a story.
It is not every day that I offer technical details on how I achieve a photograph. Mostly because I do not think of myself as a technically perfect photographer and my goal is always to get the shot over getting it 100% in camera.
In photography there are rules that function as guidelines that help create interesting and compelling images. These rules also tend to play a role in photography competitions making them rules photographers strive to adhere to but also the things to break to see what we can create when we throw the rules away.
We have had a house cat for years he just isn’t a particularly affectionate or cuddly cat. I can count on one hand the number of times he has sat on my lap let alone been affectionate. However things are changing in the last few weeks.
Almost all photographers come to photography because they love it but somewhere along the line it becomes work and the joy can fade. It becomes a job to figure out how to make our initial passion thrive so we keep the joy even when it becomes our job.
I was watching a video with a photographer talking about why Photography is so hard to get into right now and I definitely agreed with everything he was saying. In fact if I was starting right now, I am not sure I would be a photographer which is saying a lot.
