On September 13th, 2025, I had the privilege of donating my fine art image The Call to the Veterans & First Responders Jamboree in Cadiz, Ohio.
This annual event, held on the second Saturday of September, brings together community members to honor and support the men and women who put their lives on the line every day — both at home and abroad.
The Call is one of my most meaningful pieces — created as a tribute to first responders and veterans who answer the call in moments of danger. It represents courage, sacrifice, and the quiet strength it takes to run toward the flames when others run away.
When I delivered the framed piece, something special happened. As we took a photo under the event tent, the American flag above us reflected across the glass — a completely unplanned but powerful moment that added even more symbolism to the image. Seeing the flag layered over The Call was a reminder of exactly what this work was created to honor: service, resilience, and the values that bind us together.
Donating artwork like this is one small way I can give back. I believe art has the power to not only preserve history and culture but also to bring people together, spark reflection, and provide tangible support for causes that matter.
I’m deeply grateful to the organizers of the Jamboree (Dirk Harkins pictured with me) for the opportunity to contribute and to everyone who came out to support veterans and first responders. Events like this show the best of community spirit, and I’m proud that Exposure One Studios could be part of it.
✨ Until next year, I’ll carry the memory of this day — and the reflection of that flag — as a reminder of why I create.
