Ephemeral Grace was captured on Friday, August 22, 2025. I had stepped outside and noticed a monarch butterfly hanging still beneath a shrub. It felt almost too delicate to be real, suspended there in the late summer light.
I ran back inside, hoping it would stay. Heart racing, camera in hand, I dropped to the grass, crawling closer, afraid it might vanish before I even lifted the lens. There was only time for one frame—one chance. The shutter clicked, and in the next instant, the butterfly fluttered away and disappeared.
That single photograph became everything: the fleeting held still, the fragile preserved, the grace remembered.
Ephemeral Grace is part of my Land & Light Collection, a series rooted in presence and reverence—finding rhythm in the overlooked, and light in the unexpected. It is a reminder that sometimes beauty is not staged or sought, but stumbled upon in the smallest of moments—if only we pause long enough to see it.
