Taking AI’s Advice: A New Awards & Media Page Is Live!

By now, I’m sure most of you are familiar with AI—whether you’re using it in your everyday life or not. Personally, I’ve been pretty resistant to the idea, especially when it started creeping into creative spaces rather than, say, folding laundry (which I would gladly hand over).

But curiosity got the better of me, and I finally gave AI a try. And to be honest? Saying it helps speed up my workflow is an understatement.

One of my favorite uses so far is having it help find photography contests or grants I might want to apply for. That kind of research used to take hours—now I can cut it down to just a few minutes.

It’s also been incredibly useful for my part-time day job, especially when I’m juggling too many tasks and just need to crank out a social media caption in a hurry. I still review and tweak everything, but having a starting point saves me so much mental energy.

And yes—this blog post? AI helped clean it up.

I used to read and reread my posts, only to publish and spot a typo days later. Now, AI acts like a second set of eyes. It’ll flag awkward phrasing or ask, “Did you really mean that?” which is surprisingly helpful.

To be clear, I’m not using AI because I lack the skill—I’m using it to save time and reduce burnout. It’s a tool, not a shortcut. I still put in the creative work, make the final decisions, and ensure the results reflect my voice and values.

I decided to put AI to work recently—this time to help optimize my website and offer ideas on how to make it more user-friendly. One of the first suggestions? Create an Awards & Media page to showcase my achievements. Apparently, that ever-growing paragraph I had tucked into my About section wasn’t exactly fun to read (and, honestly, they weren’t wrong).

So, I took the advice to heart.

I carved out the time to dig up old links, track down articles, and piece together a proper space where all that good press and recognition could actually shine—without overwhelming anyone in a wall of text.

What used to be a cluttered blurb is now a clean, easy-to-navigate page that reflects the work I’ve done and the milestones I’m proud of—big and small.

If you’re curious, want to see where my work has been featured, or just want to check out the journey so far, you can explore the new page on the link below.

More updates to the site are coming soon—because if there’s one thing AI’s been good at, it’s giving me a little nudge to finally tackle the projects I’ve been putting off.
