Years ago photography used to be my hobby, the very thing I did for fun and not to earn a living. When I started doing it as a profession shooting for myself fell to the wayside, and it became a job. I had to develop different hobbies as a result things I would have time for; such as reading.
So as many of you know I wrote a book. I mean that isn’t even a surprise with all the early TikTok marketing I did with it earlier this year. But if you missed all of that and follow this blog there is something that may surprise you…
Open your eyes and see the world as it is. All the amazing, once in a lifetime experiences, and all the little moments that mean the world to families and friends.
As a photographer abroad working under a professional photographer and exposed to multiple other photographers from a renowned travel photographer to the then coordinator of photography and film for the Institute of Shipboard Education, also known as Semester at Sea, I had the opportunity an incredible fortune to learn from some of the best. Which is something I would never have been exposed to if I had remained in my hometown if I hadn’t jumped headlong into my entirely quick adventure plan.
So last week I posted about my Goodreads account and how I am trying to do better with it and actually did in 2022. Well if that didn’t give it away I am a fairly big book nerd. I love reading and have since I was a child, in fact, it is the one consistent thing about me that even my extended family is aware of and still makes off-handed comments if they see me with a book in hand — “You always had a book you was reading when you was a kid, I see nothing has changed.”
