Life has a wild sense of timing.
Just as the golden light of summer settles in and my photography calendar hits full tilt—packed with sessions, edits, and travel—I’m also packing up my life and moving.
To say this is “not ideal timing” would be putting it mildly. I’m juggling memory cards and moving boxes, trying not to misplace either. One minute I’m knee-deep in photoshop, the next I’m boxing up books and clothes wondering if I labeled that tote correctly.
And yet, there’s something poetic about change arriving in the middle of the season I’m busiest capturing it.
I photograph transitions all the time—growing kids, milestone moments, shifting landscapes. Now I’m living one of my own. It’s chaotic, yes, but it’s also a reminder that life never really pauses. We move forward, even when it’s inconvenient. Especially when it’s inconvenient.
So if I show up to your session with a little extra dust on my boots and stories from the road, know this: I’m right there with you in the thick of change. And I’ll be capturing yours with the same heart I’m using to navigate mine.
